Old painting, new life

I started this painting when I was pregnant with my daughter (over three years ago). I liked where it was going, but was too daunted to finish it, so it sat on my easel ever since. I finally decided to do something with it, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. The masking fluid destroyed the paper as I brought it up, so I don't think I could ever put it up for sale. Still, kind of pretty. However, what I really like is the combination of it with another of my watercolors in Photoshop.

Finished

An art teacher once told us that paintings are never finished, only abandoned. So while I feel like it needs more work, I'm leaving it for now and declaring it temporarily finished.

Unfinished

There are times when you just feel like you need to create something, and when you don't have the time, and it just sits inside and simmers and waits and refuses to go away. I've finally had some time to paint and I am so grateful!

This feels unfinished to me, but I wanted to post it anyway. I'm still happy with it.

Newer Watercolors

I may retake some of these pictures as a bit of glare shows up. However, I kind of like it.

I like going back and looking over old pictures I've done, and being surprised by how much I like them.

Not sure what's going on here, just having fun. I like that face, and see no reason not to reuse it!

What to do with this one...

I like this, but it needs something. I'm trying to avoid the butterfly/dragonfly/bird motif which is everywhere.

Weirdness

Just a little bit of weirdness. I've been throwing random paintings and photos together to see what happens, and sometimes the result is just really weird. I like this for some reason.

Book Cover

The obscenely talented Heather Domin has finished her novel, and it is available for purchase. That alone is worth celebration, but for me in particular it is a red letter day in that MY ARTWORK IS ON THE COVER. I can't tell you how exciting this is for me.

Foul Mood

I was trying to write, or at least figure out what to write, but today it was impossible. Ever been in such a foul mood that you couldn't even think straight? I decided to put down the notebook and pick up the paints instead, and this is what came out. Gotta love the lunar black paint and yupo paper.
